Ramblings

I was never much of an artist when I was younger; trying to hide my mistakes only left smudges on the once-pristine paper. I’ve finally come to appreciate those smudges as a part of what makes me, me.

Thanks for the encouragement! It’s taken many, many (ahem, m.a.n.y.!!) years to see my, ‘shortcomings’, as character TRAITS and not character FLAWS… just as some individuals have “short” hair, “short” nails, “short”er stature… it doesn’t make them any less of a wonderful individual; it just makes them, them. Just as a tree may have thinner, rounder, lighter, pricklier, or denser leaves, it is unique even among its own kind. Each blade of grass is different, each cloud that wafts through the sky, each berry looks and tastes different… Not better. Not worse. Just different. Unique. Special. But still, in a wild, universal way, connected and one. So, why not let a little of my “uniqueness” spill out and touch those who are “unique” in similar ways… Right? Like puzzle pieces, we are all cut different, unique, but fit together because of our different yet similar traits. Building community, one “puzzle piece”, one heart song, one blog post at a time!

I love that way of thinking. I have learned to embrace my failures and view them as learning opportunities. While the bumps and bruises of life hurt the also become the canvass of what makes you you. Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your work.
