…and on we go!
~~~
Girl, did you get a glimpse of Naomi? Word throughout the glen is that she was seen crossing the meadow just before sunrise, her lips stained deep, her breath heavy and hot, mixing with the crisp morning air – she looked like a derailed iron horse, heading straight for the water! By the time I made it through the trees and down the hill to see her emerge from the brook, all evidence of her midnight escapades were dripping from her coat in tiny, silent droplets. That doe can’t seem to keep herself away from those wild blackberries, thorns or not!
LOL…blackberries will do it to you everytime….
Oh yes…as I grew up we had blackberry bushes growing behind our house which meant lots of scratches, pain and suffering to get some of those hard to get at berries…
We didn’t have them around where I grew up (apricot and plum trees, wild lemongrass, kumquats, pomegranates, and strawberries tho!), but they’re plentiful where I live now! Almost so, that they’re considered invasive…
Well yes they can take over where ever they decide to grow that is true…you need good gloves and courage I think to harvest them…
I would totally be the blackberried deer 😉 The conversation between the deer is a great perspective — I love how you incorporated this in to a light-hearted conversation. Thank you for joining us this week 🙂
It’s as if they know: I’m not supposed to dig in THIS trash; however, THAT trash is fair game! Animals are wonderful sources of entertainment, aren’t they? 😆
Thank you for the kind words!
